We've put together this Packing Guide to help you prepare for an incredible summer in Israel. Clothing should be geared toward the Israeli summer and the informal nature of the program.
Travel & Luggage Guidelines
We strongly advise that you bring only one large suitcase for the trip — more than that is not needed and will incur an additional charge by El Al. There is no need for a sleeping bag or blanket.
Each participant should also bring a small travel bag (large enough for 3–4 days of travel) and a backpack for daily outings.
Laundry
Laundry service will be available 3 times during the program. Please plan accordingly when packing clothing. Because of travel considerations and the limitations of the 9 Days, laundry may not be done for up to 12 days.

Packing Tips
- Bring ONLY one large suitcase plus a small travel bag for 3–4 days. Extra bags are not needed and will incur additional airline charges. No sleeping bag or blanket needed.
- Pack pants and colored shirts that do not become see-through when wet — you'll need them for water hikes. Sturdy walking shoes and a hat are required.
- If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring an extra pair and a copy of your prescription.
- Avoid bringing expensive jewelry, electronic equipment, and expensive cameras. Sulam is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings.
- Clothing should be comfortable and appropriate for the Israeli summer heat.
